A new wave of Android One devices are coming

Right after the launch of the Lava Pixel V1 in India, Thailand is the next country to get the next wave of Android One handsets, courtesy of i-mobile’s iQ II. The iQ II’s specs aren’t far from the Android One devices we’ve seen so far – Snapdragon 410 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of storage plus microSD expansion slot for up to 32GB of additional memory, as well as a 8-megapixel rear camera plus 2-megapixel front facing cam and a 2500mAh battery. The iQ II is LTE capable.

i-mobile iQ II specs

  • 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor
  • 1GB of RAM
  • 5-inch HD display, 1280 x 720 resolution
  • 16GB of storage, expandable via microSD up to 32GB
  • 8-megapixel rear camera
  • 2-megapixel front camera
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS
  • Android 5.1 Lollipop
  • 2500mAh battery

Just like all the Android One devices before it, the i-Mobile is guaranteed to receive Android updates for the next two years, and comes with pure Android 5.1 onboard without any bloatware. i-mobile’s pricing the iQ II at THB 4,444, or around Php 5.8K. Since most Android One phones released in countries where the initiative is present are essentially re-badged devices, we might be seeing this phone locally sooner or later.
