The “Father of Android” Teases His Bezel-less Smartphone

Mi Mix is that You?!

It was mid-January when we caught wind that Andy Rubin, the man who many call the “Father of Android”, was working on a smartphone that would take on the Google Pixel and the iPhone. Rubin said that phone he and his company, Essential Products Inc., is currently working would not only be modular in nature but would have an edge-to-edge bezel-less display as well. The former Google VP has been pretty silent about the project, until last night, when he took to his official twitter account and teased us with a photo of the phone they’re currently working on.

It’s pretty much just a corner of the phone that looks like the Xiaomi Mi Mix but, unless he’s just taking us along for a ride, we’re still pretty excited to see what Essential Products Inc. can come up with that would be able to take on major players like the Google Pixel and the iPhone, which by the way comes in red now.
