The G8 ThinQ and G8s ThinQ Comes with a Few Tricks to Boot

They are flagship phones with some clever tricks

If you find the V50 ThinQ a bit lackluster (save for the 5G feature and dual screen accessory), LG’s new G8 ThinQ and G8s ThinQ offer something interesting with their ToF front camera. Beyond being used for depth information, the ToF Z camera supports a number of features such as Hand ID—a new authentication method that uses the palm of your hand to unlock the phone, a more accurate Face Unlock method, and Air Motion gestures.

Another new feature for both models is their Crystal Sound OLED display. In a nutshell, LG ditched the earpiece and speaker and uses the OLED display as a speaker diaphragm, where it vibrates in producing audio.

Like the V50 ThinQ, both G8 ThinQ and G8s ThinQ come with a Snapdragon 855 processor and 6GB RAM, though they do not have the V50 ThinQ’s X50 5G modem. The difference between the two lies on the display, battery, and rear cameras: the G8 ThinQ has a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ display 3500mAh battery and dual rear cameras, while the G8s ThinQ has a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display, 3550mAh battery, and triple rear cameras.

Things get confusing, as there will be a G8 ThinQ variant with three rear cameras (similar to the one found on the V50 ThinQ), but will be available in select markets.
