Korean electronics firm LG is aiming to showcase the maglev floating PJ9 Bluetooth Speaker at next year’s Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas on January 5, 2017.
The PJ9 boasts 360-degree sound and comes with two passive radiators, providing a more balanced bass and midrange sound. The speaker is rated for 10 hours of continued use. Once it runs out of power, the PJ9 gently drops down to the center of the magnetic woofer station and automatically starts charging wirelessly.
Portability and water resistance were also taken into consideration in building the PJ9. The speaker has an IPX7 waterproof rating, able to withstand being submerged in 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. According to LG, the PJ9’s simple but reliable and elegant design will “take the Bluetooth speaker industry by storm.”
LG has yet to announce pricing details for the PJ9.
