The New Nokia 3310 Won’t Be A Smartphone

Everybody’s excited at the prospect of buying HMD Oy’s revival of the neigh unbreakable 3310 that’s set to be announced in MWC in a few days. There’s been talk about that particular phone possibly being the toughest smartphone on the block but unfortunately we have bad news. According to top leakster Evan Blass, the new phone will simply be a glorified featurephone with a bunch of new features for the modern age.

The 2017 version of the 3310 will be running the good ol’ Series 30 interface and will have a colored screen, but that’s pretty much it. It will be available in multiple colors and will be able to swap cases just like the 3310 you had back in the day, but it will most definitely still be a dumbphone and not a smartphone. Blass says that it’s a mashup of the 3310 and the Nokia 150, and we’re inclined to believe him. Still, the Nokia 3310 will probably still sell thanks to nostalgia, and we’re happy that we’re finally getting a colored-screen 3310 without resorting to go to Greenhills.
