The Nokia 2.1 is the First Android Go Phone to Receive Android Pie (Go Edition)

Setting an example for Android Go devices

When Android Go was launched back in May 2017, one of its primary goals is for budget phones to run Android smoothly through using lightweight versions of Google’s apps. Fast forward to a year later, Google launched a Go version of Android Pie, which features all the goodness of Pie while remaining to be lightweight.

All Android Go phones that have launched came with a Go version of Android Oreo. As for the Go version of Android Pie, HMD Global has confirmed that they are rolling out the update to the Nokia 2.1, making the budget phablet the first phone to be updated from Android Oreo (Go edition) to Android Pie (Go Edition).

Those who have the Nokia 2.1 should check the software update option on their phones, and enjoy a lightweight slice of Pie as soon as possible.
