The OPPO A77 Gets Officially Released

OPPO Adds Portrait Mode to the Mix

OPPO has banked on its reputation for being the smartphone brand for the selfie aficionado and we think it’s safe to say that the moves they’ve been making have been paying dividends; placing them within the top 5 smartphone brands, both here and in their homeland. Still riding high on the global launch of their new Selfie Experts, the OPPO F3 and OPPO F3 Plus, the Chinese company quietly recently released another selfie-centric device in their A series lineup — the OPPO A77; a phone that features a 16-megapixel front camera with Beauty 4.0 and the addition of portrait mode.

OPPO A77 Specifications

  • 1.5GHz MediaTek MT6750T octa-core processor
  • Mali T860 GPU
  • 4GB of RAM
  • 5.5-Inch Full HD Display; 1920×1080 Resolution
  • 64GB of expandable storage
  • 13-megapixel rear camera, PDAF, LED Flash
  • 16-megapixel front camera f/2.0 aperture, Beauty 4.0, Portrait Mode
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS, Fingerprint Scanner
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow, ColorOS
  • 3200mAh Battery

If you think the spec sheet for the OPPO A77 looks familiar, it’s because it closely resembles that of the OPPO F3 or the Vivo V5 that came before it. The major difference here is that they’ve foregone the dual camera setup of their selfie experts in favor of a single shooter with the ability to add software assisted depth of field.

The OPPO A77 was outed through the company’s Taiwanese website, where pre-orders for the device will begin tomorrow (May 19), and has been priced at 10,990 NTD or Php 18,144; making it Php 2,000 more than the OPPO F3. No word if the OPPO A77 will make it to our shores just yet.
