The ROG Zephyrus G14 Ditches RGB for an LED Dot Matrix Display

A unique kind of gamer flex

Are you a gamer who is tired of “RGB is lyf” aesthetics BUT want to stand out of the crowd? ASUS ROG has thought of a unique design with the Zephyrus G14. Instead of RGB lighting, you can equip the Ryzen 4000-powered laptop with an AniMe Matrix lid to flash the time and fun GIFS, among other things.

Comprising of 1215 mini LEDs, each mini LED can be configured with up to 256 levels of brightness, so you can just imagine what you can show off with it (Nyan Cat GIFs perhaps?)

As a proper gaming laptop, the Zephyrus G14 can be configured with up to a Ryzen 4800HS CPU, along with up to a RTX 2060 GPU, up to 1TB SSD, and up to 32GB RAM. Display options include either a Full HD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate or a Quad HD panel with up to a 60Hz refresh rate. All of those specs in a notebook that weighs a little over 3.5 pounds and can last up to 10.5 hours on a single charge.

This fun version of the Zephyrus G14 will be available in April, while the AniMe Matrix-less model will be available by mid-March.
