The S-Pen Finds a New Home in the New Samsung Chromebook Pro

That’s right. The Samsung Galaxy Note 7 may have been laid to rest by the Korean brand, but that doesn’t mean it won’t carry on some of its best features to their other products. One of the major improvements to the late flagship phablet was to the S-Pen. It had better latency, a tip that mimicked that of a real pen, plus it was IP68 certified like the rest of the unit. It seems such a shame to throw away an upgrade just because the device that housed it has been deemed a fire hazard.

Enter, the new Samsung Chromebook Pro. This $499, or Php 24,169, laptop is equipped with a 2.0 GHz hexa-core processor, 4GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, and runs on Chrome OS. It all sound well and good; pretty much what you’d expect from most Chromebooks out in the market today. What makes this special though is you can maximize the use of its 12.3-inch touchscreen display, which you can also rotate 360-degrees, with the use of the S-Pen, or what they’re now just calling the PEN. Yes. All caps. PEN.

In terms of connectivity, the Samsung Chromebook Pro has 2 USB Type-C Ports and a SD Card Slot; a godsend for folks like us who need to constantly transfer photos from camera to laptops for articles. According to our source, you can start to pre-order the device but that’s just for folks who live in the US. Will it make its way here? We’re not enitrely sure.
