Samsung’s Big Screened, Selfie-Centric Smartphone is Coming to the Philippines

While we are eagerly anticipating the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8+, which by the way happens tomorrow night, it looks like another smartphone from Sammy is making its way to the Philippines this April — The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro. Initially released solely for the Chinese market, but made its way here via Kimstore and Widget City, Samsung’s big-screened smartphone armed with a 16-megapixel front camera will be launched a week after we hear about the Korean company’s flagship devices.

Let’s take a look at its specs.

Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro specs

  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 octa-core processor
  • Adreno 510 GPU
  • 6-inch full HD Super AMOLED display, 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 64GB of expandable storage
  • 16-megapixel rear camera with f/1.9 aperture
  • 16-megapixel front camera with f/1.9 aperture
  • Dual SIM
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth
  • GPS, A-GPS
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • USB Type-C
  • 4000mAh battery
  • Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow

Looking at its hardware, it closely resembles the OPPO F3 Plus without the dual front camera setup, of course, but has more RAM at 6GB. The pricing for both phones aren’t that far apart either. The OPPO F3 Plus is priced at Php 23,990 and, while we don’t have the official price from Samsung, Kimstore and Widget City had it priced at Php 25,500. It looks like we’re going to have another Selfie Battle on our hands very soon.

The Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro is set to launch in the Philippines on April 6.
