It reminds us of Samsung’s previous efforts

While the idea of Android-powered cameras has died long ago—one of the prominent ones being Samsung’s Galaxy Camera line—Yongnuo is toying with the idea once again. This time around, it comes with an interchangeable lens mount.

Called the YN450, the mirrorless camera sports a 16-megapixel Panasonic Micro 4/3 sensor and a Canon EF mount and is powered by Android 7.1—which is underwhelming since most Android devices have Oreo or Pie on board.

Going into the spec sheet, it sports a 5-inch Full HD IPS display, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage, 4000mAh battery, 4G and WiFi connectivity, a yet-unknown Qualcomm Snapdragon octa-core processor, and an 8-megapixel front camera just in case you want to take selfies with it.

Its camera-centric features include 4K recording at 30FPS, stereo microphones, headphone jack, dual LED flash, and support for RAW shooting.

While it sounds like your typical Android smartphone, what makes the YN450 stand out is that it can use a variety of EF mount lenses.

There’s no word yet on pricing and availability of the YN450.
