There’s a virtual gold rush for crypto-currency mining, specifically Ethereum, which has resulted in increased prices for most GPUs in the market. While miners have traditionally gone with Radeon cards for mining, even NVIDIA’s Pascal-powered GPUs starting from the GTX 1060 above have been affected by the mining craze, with prices rising at least 10% or more from the MSRP.

This isn’t lost on PC parts manufacturer Sapphire, who has managed to beat their competitors in offering GPUs specifically built for mining. The new GPUs are built on AMD Radeon RX 470 and 560’s, and all of them except one ship without any display outputs. This means that the mining cards can’t be flipped on the used components market after they’ve been abused by miners on their rigs.

The new cards also sport Samsung-brand memory chips, which have been known to clock higher than the standard silicon that ships with other cards. These cards are also only backed by a 1 year warantee. Pricing for the RX470 Mining Edition 8GB (Samsung) is £300, which comes out to around 20K. Check out the pricing for all the cards below:

  • Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Mining Edition 8GB (Samsung)—£300
  • Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Mining Edition 8GB—£290
  • Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Mining Edition 4GB (Samsung)—£260
  • Sapphire Radeon RX 470 Mining Edition 4GB—£249
  • Sapphire Radeon RX 560 Mining Edition 4GB—£170
