This Pyxis Micro USB Cable Is Tough And Reversible

Yeah, you read that headline right. Pyxis (the accessory arm of Cosmic Technologies Inc., the same people behind Cherry Mobile) has released a reversible micro USB cable. And before you start bashing this article in the comments section, we do realize that micro USB cables are not reversible, by design – only the newer USB Type-C cables are truly reversible.

But that doesn’t mean clever engineering can’t get over that little hiccup. See, the business end of the new cables (the part that goes into your phone or tablet) have been redesigned compared to a regular cable.

Instead of the regular trapezoidal shape of the micro USB cable, the Pyxis variation has a hexagonal shape, and has connectors on both sides. This allows the cable to be plugged in to a device no matter its orientation.

As an added bonus, the new cables have aluminum braiding and is rated to withstand 80 kilos of force tugging on it. That’s great news, especially for us – we regularly wreck USB cables that we take along during events, especially when we’re using it with our powerbanks since we’re a bit clumsy at times. The cables can also support currents up to 2.4A safely without any issues.

The best part is that the new cables are priced at just Php 300, making it an affordable choice for people who want a tough, long lasting cable for not much money.
