Transcend Announces the DrivePro 230 Dashcam

Keeps Watch Even While You’re Parked

Dashcams have become a bit of a neccessity while driving on the mean streets of Metro Manila. After all, you have to protect yourself against other motorist who have their own best interest in mind, and you have a few abusive law enforcers looking to make a quick buck as well.

Transcend recently announced the newest dashcam in their product line, the DrivePro 230. It has a Sony Exmor image sensor that gets you high quality video up to 1080p at 30fps, even on those long night drives; thanks to the wide dynamic range tech it has on board.

Aside from recording footage while you’re on the road, you can also set the DrivePro 230 to stand guard even while the car is parked with its built-in battery. You can either set the dashcam to take time-lapse footage while you’re out watching a movie or turn on its motion detector in case someone lingers too long in front of your car.

You also get several safety functions, such as: Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Headlight Reminder, and Driver Fatigue Alert. The DrivePro 230 also has an Emergency Recording function that is activated by its motion G-sensor, so in the unlikely event of a collision, it can detect the impact and records a file that prevents being overwritten.

If you need to share the evidence you have on dashcam quickly without busting out a laptop, you can also use the DrivePro Toolbox and DrivePro App to send footage to your device via WiFi.

No word on local availability and pricing just yet, but we’ll update the article as soon as we know more.
