Unacceptable: Some iPhone X’s Have Nasty Green Line On The Side

Should not happen in a phone that’s more than 50K

While there’s always something to be said about being among the first people to get your hands on a new flagship, there’s also a risk that you’ll be the first person to stumble onto a particular manufacturing flaw. That has always been true with early adopters, and now some early iPhone X users are finding out the hard way the downsides of having Apple’s new baby early.

Some users are reporting that there’s a vertical green line on the side of their display, which is obviously a big issue. Technically the problem lies with the OLED panels that Samsung supplied to Apple, and it’s not like this hasn’t happened to the Korean company before. Early batches of the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge had a similar pink like on their screens which was later determined to be caused by a hardware problem, so it’s more than likely that’s the same culprit here.

According to reports, Apple has outright replaced the affected iPhone X units which tells us that the problem isn’t with the phone’s software, and can’t be fixed by user themselves. There’s around 25 documented cases of this particular issue right now, with brand new units that have not been damaged at all. Both versions of the iPhone X are affected as well.
