Yet another R7 variant is coming
OPPO’s R7 family is already full to bursting, with the regular R7, R7 Lite and the R7 Plus in its roster. If Chinese regulators are to be believed, there’s yet another model joining the family – the R7S. The R7S bridges the screen gap between the 5-inch R7 (and R7 Lite) and the 6-inch R7 Plus, while bringing roughly the same specs – 1.5GHz octa-core processor (possibly a Snapdragon 615), 3GB of RAM, 5.5-inch full HD AMOLED display, 32GB of storage and a 13-megapixel/8-megapixel camera combo.
One thing that GSM Arena pointed out with the R7S is that it’s substantially heavier than the R7 Plus despite being physically smaller. That may point to an even beefier battery that’s already on the R7 Plus. We’ve been using the R7 Plus for a few days now, and we can honestly say it’s one of the longer lasting smartphones we’ve had the pleasure to use (right after ASUS’ Zenfone Laser). We’ll try to confirm on the 15th if the R7S is coming to our country.
