The Black Shark and ROG Phone better watch out
vivo is revealing a few details about its upcoming phone from the iQOO sub-brand. Following the phone’s appearance at an NBA segment, a leaked poster revealed key specs of the iQOO phone, and it is fitting for a flagship/gaming device.
With features such as a Snapdragon 855 processor, 256GB internal storage, 12GB RAM, 4000mAh battery, and 4D shock. Other features mentioned include NFC, Super HDR shooting, USB-C, and 44W fast charging.
Since it is a gaming phone, we expect iQOO to have performance-enhancing tech like improved cooling and software-based optimization like Huawei’s GPU Turbo.
Judging from the specs, it appears that vivo’s premium sub-brand aims to go against the likes of ASUS’ ROG Phone, Xiaomi Black Shark, Nubia Red Magic, Razer phone, and Huawei Mate 20 X. While the photos we saw so far depict a typical phone with a triple rear camera setup, the iQOO might have other surprises in store.
There’s no official word as to when it will launch as of now, though a MWC 2019 unveiling is a possibility.
