After unveiling the S6 in China last April, vivo is following that up with the upcoming S7 5G. The phone first appeared in a YG Ad Instagram post where it is held by Blackpink’s Lisa. While Lisa’s group previously endorsed Samsung with a special edition Galaxy A80, the endorsement is said to be exclusive for China.
Going to the phone, vivo confirmed through Weibo that the S7 will launch on August 3. Leaked photos reveal that the S7 will have a display with a notch similar to the X21. Inside the notch are two cameras: a 44-megapixel main snapper with autofocus and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera. The square-shaped camera module in the back will have three cameras, which is rumored to comprise of a 64-megapixel main camera, 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle, and 13-megapixel portrait (aka short telephoto) camera.
Other than that, one of the S7’s bragging rights is its thin profile—possibly to be one of the thinnest 5G phones in the market. Other rumored specs include a Snapdragon 765G processor, 8GB RAM, 128GB/256GB internal storage, and a 6.43-inch Super AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint scanner.
