It ditches moving parts for a solid and elegant look
vivo finally unwrapped its new version of the NEX with the NEX Dual Display Edition. As the name implies, this version ditches the pop-up front camera for a secondary Super AMOLED display at the back, along with a triple rear camera setup.
The triple rear camera setup consists of a 12-megapixel f/1.79 primary camera with OIS, 2-megapixel f/1.8 depth-sensing camera, and a Time-of-Flight (ToF) camera. The third camera is used primarily for distance measurement and for advanced face unlock.
While it has the same processor and front display, the NEX Dual Display Edition comes with 10GB RAM, 128GB non-expandable storage, and a smaller 3500mAh battery with 22.5W (10V/2.25A) quick charging. The NEX Dual Display Edition is also vivo’s first phone to come with Android Pie out of the box.

The NEX Dual Display Edition is available for pre-order in China for CNY 4,998 (~Php 38.3k), with the phone arriving on December 29. Pre-orders outside of China will happen soon, so there’s a slim chance that this phone will make it to our shores.
