No compromise storage by WD
If you’re a PC enthusiast, you usually had to choose between two things when it came to data drives: capacity or performance. The former meant going with a traditional disk drive which has plenty of room but isn’t as speedy as SSDs, while the latter meant you’d get a fast drive that didn’t have a lot of room. Well, Western Digital wants to change all of that with their new Black2 – the world’s first ever hybrid drive that has the best of both worlds.
The Black2 does exactly what WD claims – it has two storage mediums – a 2.5-inch 120GB solid state drive and a 1TB HDD fused into one unit. The drive uses a single cable and fits into a conventional 9.5mm slot. The benefits of the dual media solution is obvious – you get the performance of the SSD while at the same time enjoy the roomy capacity of a traditional hard drive.
Of course, the Black2 won’t come cheap – the MSRP for the 2.5-inch 120 GB SSD + 1 TB HDD WD Black2 dual drive, model #: WD1001X06XDTL, is Php 13,950.
