WD’s My Passport Wireless Pro Is A Pocket-sized Plex Media Server

If you’ve always wanted to have easy access to your media library wherever you go without needing an internet connection, then you might want to take a look at WD’s newest portable hard drive, the My Passport Wireless Pro. The new portable hard drive has its own wireless connection and media server functionality handled by Plex’s media software and allows a number of different devices to connect to it, perfect for digital nomads.

The isn’t just a media server either – it can back up your data via an SD card reader or USB 3.0, and can even charge your gadgets in a pinch. The My Passport Wireless Pro has an estimated 10-hour battery life, and can even grab photos direct from your cameras and gadgets via USB 3.0. WD is pricing the new device at $229 (Php 10.6K) for the 2TB version, while the 3TB version is slightly more, at $249 (Php 11.6K). No local pricing has been announced.
