Where’s the Starmobile Diamond V7?

Starmobile went on a full-scale offensive when they launched smartphone after smartphone led with their flagship, the Starmobile Knight. However among all the devices that they announced during their launch event several months ago, one device has yet to hit the shelves of stores. Yep, you guessed it right — the 5.7-inch phablet, the Starmobile Diamond V7.

Now to give you guys a quick refresher on the Diamond V7, here are the specifications:

Starmobile Diamond V7 Spec Sheet

  • 1.2GHz Quad-core Processor MediaTek
  • PowerVR SGX544MP GPU
  • 1GB RAM
  • 4GB Internal Storage, expandable up to 32GB via microSD Card
  • 5.7-inch IPS Capacitive Display, DragonTrail Glass
  • 720×1280 Resolution, 257 pixels per inch
  • 18.0-megapixels rear-facing camera with LED flash, autofocus and BSI
  • 8.0-megapixels front-facing camera with autofocus and BSI
  • Dual SIM, Dual Standby WiFi, WiFI Hotspot, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS/aGPS
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 2,600mAH Battery
  • Comes with free Leather Flip Case and Capacitive Stylus

As you can see it looks like a solid phablet that might be able to even give the MyPhone Iceberg a run for their money. Unlike the Iceberg the Diamond V7 has expandable storage, supposedly better optics, and two cool freebies in the form of the leather flip case and the capacitive stylus.

So when will it land and how much will it sell for? Well to be honest we have no clue, lol. We’ve been monitoring the Facebook Page of Starmobile and we haven’t seen any promotional materials come out yet. They’re still focused on pushing the Starmobile Knight, Starmobile Jump, and the Starmobile Diamond V3.

We’ll try to get in touch with representatives with Starmobile to get an update but for now guys your guesses are just as good as ours.

  1. Maybe they are delaying it to release a phone with better innards (I hope they do). The Diamond V7 is based on I-Mobile IQ9. But I-Mobile already announced a newer version IQ9.1 that uses the turbo version Mediatek SOC MT6589T that has 1.5 GHz clock speed. This will be a better competitor to Cherry Mobile Cosmos series.
