Why Does it Cost Php100 More?
The new ASUS Zenpower in black is now available and it’s being offered already in online stores like Lazada. Unlike the previous ZenPower units, this variant in black costs Php895, Php100 more than the original Php795 price tag. Seeing as we’re the curious sort, we jumped the gun and got ourselves one to see if there’s any noticeable difference other than the black color. Turns out there are two main aesthetic changes.
First is the finish of the body. We now have a smooth matte black finish as opposed to the plain metallic surface of the previous models. Secondly is the design of the top panel. Previous generation ZenPower units had a generic white plastic surface which hosted the I/O, LED lights, and power button. The black variant has the “concentric circles” design similar to the infamous chin of the ASUS Zenfone 2.
What else is different? That’s it, pancit. Everything else, like the power rating, safety features, and size are the same. Ultimately the extra Php100 is really more for aesthetics than anything else. It won’t buy you more power or faster charging but if you’re the type that just loves the “black motif”, this one is definitely for you.
The ASUS Zenpower in black is available across various resellers, distributors, and online shops. SRP as of this writing is Php895.
