The Rumor Mill Says It Could Be…
The Canon G7X Mark II was a very popular camera for vloggers and was used by the likes of Casey Neistat (when he wasn’t zipping around on his Booster Board holding his DSLR) and our very own Alodia Gosengfiao before switching over to her current Canon EOS M6 rig . The Canon G7X Mk II had the all-important flip-up screen to be able to frame themselves properly in their shots, it was light and portable plus had great video quality with decent image stabilization. It ticked off a lot of boxes for these content creators save for two things: the ability to shoot in 4K and the lack of a mic input.
Rumor has it that Canon has listened to the communities wants and needs because reports have surfaced that the next iteration of the G7X could have 4K video capabilities and the highly requested mic input while retaining everything that the camera is known for. I personally purchased this camera in an attempt to share different content apart from you usually see on our YouTube channel and, if the rumors are true, then Canon has a definite winner here and will probably win some of those who use Sony’s RX100 series.
Again, take all of this with a grain of salt since they are rumors but we really hope that this one is true.
