If you’re the market for powerful but ultraportable speakers, one good option is the X-Mini Max Ceramic Capsule Speakers. It retails for just Php2,490 and it can easily fill a conference room with audio. We’ve actually been using one for the last few weeks since we’ve been doing presentations left and right and we needed some speakers with us since we usually showcase videos during our presentations for work (note: author works for a digital creative ad agency).

When we opened the box (plastic) we were surprised to find not one, but two speakers in it. Both looked exactly the same and you really can’t tell the difference between the two. You can actually just use one or you can daisy chain both (connect the audio cable from one speaker to the other and the other speaker connects to your audio source). Connecting both give better sound quality and much more power.

The audio cable is neatly tucked beneath the speaker. You can just easily pull it out when needed and store it again if you don’t. For a more “open” and louder sound you can also expand the speakers by unlocking them and twisting them sideways. This also gives more bass than playing them closed. The only reason why you would probably want them closed is if you want to take them with you and you need ’em more compact than they are.

These speakers are battery-powered so you don’t have to constantly connect it to your USB port for them to power up. The charging cable looks freaky though since it starts with the USB port and then extends to two micro USB connectors and an audio jack, hehe. Really messy. That’s the problem with cables and that’s why a lot of people are shifting to wireless compact speakers.

You can use just one or you can daisy chain them to connect both. Audio cable is at the bottom.

If you want to store them there’s a black drawstring pouch included in the box. You can fit in the two speakers (closed) and the charging cable.
