The folks over at GSMArena have just confirmed that Xiaomi will be rolling out Android Nougat, through their MIUI OS, for more devices soon. Last week, the Chinese tech magnate confirmed the Mi 5 as a candidate for the upgrade. Recently, a company representative posted on the Chinese forums Weibo that they will be adding the Mi 4c, Mi 4s, Mi Note 2, and Mi Max to the list of handsets slated for the upgrade.
As for the timeframe of the upgrades, Xiaomi has not yet disclosed a specific date, though some forumites are expecting the push in early Q1 2017.
The Mi 5s and Mi MIX are also expected to be in line for the update, given that the handsets are relatively new releases. No word yet from Xiaomi on whether Redmi handsets will be included in the updates.
