Xiaomi Expands Global IoT Ecosystem Portfolio with Six New Products

Aside from smartphones, Xiaomi is a well-performing brand when it comes to IoT products. From smart bulbs to fitness trackers and electric scooters, Xiaomi is well known for offering value-for-money ecosystem products across the globe. For its Ecosystem Product Launch last July 15, Xiaomi announced six new products.

The Mi Band 5 becomes official globally as the Mi Band 5. Like its Chinese counterpart, you are getting key upgrades like a 1.1-inch AMOLED display, fully customizable watch faces, magnetic charging, 14-day battery life, and 50m water resistance. The 5th-generation band also works as a camera remote shutter and comes with improved health tracking features like stress management, period tracker. deep breathing. You also get a more accurate PPG Heart Rate sensor and tracking for 11 different exercises.

The Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic is Xiaomi’s latest budget TWS offering that packs a number of compelling features like 14.2mm dynamic drivers, support for AAC codec, wear detection sensors, and dual mics for Environmental Noise Cancellation. Battery life is rated at up to 5 hours on a single charge (20 hours with the case), with charging done via USB-C.

New to Xiaomi’s IoT portfolio is the Mi TV Stick, which is a small module that can transform any TV into a Smart TV via HDMI. It has built-in Google Chromecast, along with 8GB internal storage, 1GB RAM, a quad-core processor, and a supplied remote. Aside from Android TV, the Mi TV Stick also supports Dolby and DTS surround sound.

Also new to Xiaomi’s portfolio is the Mi Curved Gaming Monitor. Xiaomi’s debut offering has a 34-inch curved display with a WQHD+ (3440 x 1440)  resolution, 144hz refresh rate, and a 21:9 aspect ratio. It also comes with a 1500R curvature, 121% sRGB coverage, AMD FreeSync Premium support, TÃœV Rheinland certification, and split-screen support.

For its electric scooters, Xiaomi announced the Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 and Mi Electric Scooter 1S. The Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 has a maximum speed of 25 km/h, a 45km range, and can handle up to a 20% incline, It comes with a dual-disc braking system, eABS, pneumatic tires, and a supplied Mi Portable Air Compressor for adding air to the tires. It also has a multi-function display, along with a 2w headlight and a rear brake light.

The Mi Electric Scooter 1S also has a 25km/h max speed but comes with a shorter 30km range and lower 14% incline climb and single dis braking system. Like the Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2, you also get a 2w headlight and rear brake light on the Mi Electric Scooter 1S.
