Aside from possessing Qualcomm’s spanking’ new 616 processor, the Redmi 3 also has a large 4100mAh battery that should allow it to keep on trucking even with heavy use. The Redmi 3 is priced at just RMB 699 or around 5K in our currency, which makes it a compelling device for the budget-minded.

  1. Hey Unbox, can you put on your journalistic hats and figure out what is going in Xiaomi PH.? Looks like the Facebook page is not being updated since November and there are devices that have been stuck at the service center for a long time. Is Xiaomi abandoning the country?

    1. We noticed that too. We’ve officially reached out to the PR firm of Xiaomi here in the PH. They said that Xiaomi’s still in country and are still selling units. As for the units in the service centers, your guess is as good as mine.

      1. I wonder if their commitment to the country has changed somewhat, they are not gonna get the thousands-in-minutes they get from other Asian countries, and people commenting on their facebook page keep on asking for the latest ones that they fail to secure. It seems sad though that we are most likely to get the Redmi 3 through unofficial channels then, making it cost about 2k more.
