Here’s Xiaomi’s newest smartphone
A few days ago Xiaomi said that they’d be releasing an updated version of the Redmi 1S, and today they’ve done just that, but have named the new product the Redmi 2 to prevent confusion.

While the new smartphone retains much of the same hardware as the previous version, Xiaomi’s updated the processor of the new device to Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor, which gives the new device LTE. Another minor hardware change is the 2-megapixel front camera that was just 1.2-megapixels in the old device, as well as the OGS solution used in the 4.7-inch HD display. The new smartphone also comes in a variety of color choices as well.
Slightly disappointing is the use of Android 4.4 KitKat in the device, though the device’s price is set at around RMB 699, which is around Php 5055, which is pretty close to the original price of the Redmi 1S here in the PH. No international availability has been set as of yet.
