Affordable 18:9 Display phones for everyone
After getting a preview of the Redmi 5 and 5 Plus, Xiaomi has officially announced its latest budget handsets in China. Let’s take a quick recap of their specs:

- 12-megapixel rear camera with LED Flash
- 5-megapixel front camera with LED Flash
- Dual-SIM
- 4G LTE
- WiFi, Bluetooth
- GPS/A-GPS/GLONASS, Fingerprint scanner
- Android Nougat with MIUI 9
- 4000mAh battery
Both will be available in China starting December 12, and will be available in black, blue, pink, and gold. Pricing is as follows:
- Redmi 5 2GB/16GB: CNY 799Â (~Php 6.2k)
- Redmi 5 3GB/32GB: CNY 899Â (~Php 6.9k)
- Redmi 5 Plus 3GB/32GB: CNY 999 (~Php 7.7k)
- Redmi 5 Plus 4GB/64GB: CNY 1,299Â (~Php 10k)
No word yet if they will make it to our shores but given their specs and pricing, we really hope Xiaomi makes its presence official in the Philippines. What do you think?
