In Xiaomi Philippines’ catalog for July-August, the brand confirmed that a Redmi 9A is in the works. The phone is listed as coming soon, along with the Redmi 9.
While photo used for the listing appears to be a Redmi 8A, confirmed specs include a 6.53-inch HD+ dot drop display, 13-megapixel rear camera, 5-megapixel front camera, and a large 5000mAh battery. Powering the budget phone is a yet-to-be-announced Helio G25 processor, which is listed as an octa-core processor with a max clock speed of 2.0Ghz and has a Mali-G31 GPU.
Other rumors say that the Redmi 9A will only come in a 3GB/32GB, along with a USB-C port. It is said to be priced at around 100 Euros(~Php 5.7k), but that could be lower since phones in Europe are more expensive compared to Asia.
We should know more about the Redmi 9A in the coming days.
