While Android 10 is currently available to Pixel phones and the Essential phone, a select few devices—one of them being the Mi 9T Pro (Redmi K20 Pro in China and India)—can get a beta version of Android 10.
Xiaomi, on the other hand, wants to match HMD Global’s Android 10 rollout timeline starting with the Redmi K20/ Mi 9T. According to Ausdroid, Xiaomi confirmed that they will be rolling out Android 10 (presumably together with MIUI 11) to the Mi 9T/Redmi K20 as early as next month. That’s a serious commitment from Xiaomi, considering that they have to optimize MIUI for Android 10.
On the other side of the coin, this announcement shows Xiaomi’s commitment to delivering stable updates as fast as possible—something that other brands should follow.
