A cheaper, plastic version of the Mi4 may be coming
Xiaomi has been teasing a new product that will be launched in India on April 23, which coincidentally also marks Xiaomi’s first ever launch outside of China. According to sources, the new phone is a global version of the Mi 4, dubbed the Mi 4i which explains the prominent “i” branding that the company has been releasing in its teasers.
The Mi 4i utilizes a plastic body over the Mi 4’s metal and glass construction, and will utilize a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor, 5-inch full HD panel, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage. A 13-megapixel rear camera is on the back, paired with a 5-megapixel front camera. Just like the Mi 4, the Mi 4i will have LTE on board which will also sport a lot more LTE bands to allow the device to be sold in more territories.
Price-wise, the Mi 4i will be priced at CNY 1,300 (Php 9.2K).
