Xiaomi Updates Mi Notebook Air With 4G, Core i7 Processors

Xiaomi has updated their Mi Notebook Air notebook with 4G models and a new processor, at least for the 13.3-inch model. Unveiled a day before Christmas, the new notebooks were launched in collaboration with China Mobile, and natively support LTE Cat 4 out of the box without needing a separate dongle or router.

While the specifications for the 12.5-inch model has not changed aside from the 4G capability, the 13.3-inch 4G capable Mi Notebook Air’s processor has been upgraded from a Core i5 to a Core i7, making it slightly more powerful than the original. Customers in China will also be able to enjoy 4GB of 4G data every month courtesy of China Mobile, which totals to around 48GB a year.

The new notebooks are priced at RMB 4,699 or Php 33.6K for the 12.5-inch model, while the 13.3-inch variant gets a RMB 4999 or Php 35.8K price tag.

  1. From what I’ve read, this 4G version doesn’t have a sim slot. instead it uses eSim which has not been implemented here in the Philippines IMO. So, as much as it is useful in China, with partnership with China Mobile, that added feature won’t have any use here in the Philippines. Too bad…
