Xiaomi: We Don’t Have Any Official Distributors In The Philippines

The issue deepens further

We’ve already talked about the two warring Xiaomi distributors in the Philippines before here and here. With the appeal of Xiaomi’s bang for the buck products and worries about repair and warranty, it’s only natural for people to want to go to the official source so they rest easy knowing that if something happens to their products, they’re covered by the official warranty.

Well, Xiaomi has officially weighed in the conversation, and a Xiaomi spokesperson (which has been our contact back when the company officially entered the country in 2014) has officially given the company’s statement as it relates to the distribution of their products.

“Xiaomi currently does not have official distributors in the Philippines. All official announcements in the future will come directly from Xiaomi.”

That means neither Mi Philippines or Mi Home Philippines are official distributors for Xiaomi products in the Philippines, nor anyone else for that matter.

We’ve asked for the comment of both sides in the matter and we’ll post their statements as soon as we get word.
