Xiaomi’s Mi Band 4 Gets Several Major Upgrades

The colored display is one of them

Xiaomi officially unveiled the fourth generation of its Mi Band fitness trackers in China, and is arguably the biggest update for the line.

To kick things off, the Mi Band 4 features a 0.95-inch AMOLED color screen with a 2.5D scratch resistant glass—the latter being a welcome upgrade as previous Mi Band models used plastic. You have 77 colorful dial themes to choose from and 9 bands to pair them with—one of them being the Avengers edition.

The Mi Band 4 gets a 6-axis accelerometer for better sports tracking, a built-in swimming stroke recognition, Bluetooth 5.0, and a built-in microphone for enabling voice commands and Xiaomi’s Xiao AI voice assistant. Like its predecessor, you still get a heart rate monitor, sleep quality index, and 50-meter water resistance, along with an option to get one with built-in NFC. Xiaomi claims that the Mi Band 4 can last up to 20 days for the non-NFC version and 15 days for the NFC version.

Aside from the non-NFC and NFC versions, which is priced at CNY 169(~Php 1.3k) and CNY 229(~Php 1.8k) respectively, there’s an Avengers limited edition set that contains three bands adorned with iconic Avengers logos, along with special packaging. That one retails for CNY 349 (~Php 2.7k).

The Mi Band 4 is available for reservation in China, with a global release to follow.
