Xiaomi’s Mi MIX is A Flagship With A Ridiculous 91.3% Screen To Body Ratio

Remember those concept renders of a Xiaomi phone with an edge-less display? Well, it’s no longer a concept – Xiaomi has officially announced that they’re putting that ridiculous phone into production. Meet the Mi MIX.

The new phone has a 6.4-inch display that has an almost unheard of 91.3% screen to body ratio. To achieve that, Xiaomi had to remove the earpiece on the top and replace it with a ceramic acoustic system instead, along with an ultrasonic proximity sensor and a re-positioned front camera that now sits on the lower right corner of the phone.

The phone also utilizes a full ceramic body that’s been joined without the use of glues or any kind of adhesive, which is very impressive.

The innards of the phone are equally impressive as well – the device sports a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor running at 2.35GHz, up to 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, 4400mAh battery, Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 as well as a fingerprint scanner.

The phone will retail for RMB 3499 (Php 25K) for the regular 4GB/128GB version. The high end, 18K gold-infused Mi MIX 18K that has 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage will retail for RMB 3999, or Php 28.4K.
