Online first

We’re all excited about the prospect of buying Xiaomi’s Redmi 5A, but if you’re looking forward to buying it in the official Mi Authorized store (or any other authorized dealer) when it’s launched, you may have to wait a while.

Lazada has already started teasing the new device, with the phone launching first on the online store. We’re not sure if this means the device will be an online-only Lazada exclusive throughout its selling period, but if we were to guess it probably wouldn’t be.

As for official availability, Mi Philippines has begun teasing the “entry-level smartphone king” on their Facebook page, along with a photo and a March 13 2018, 11AM time. We’re guessing that the phone drops on that time in Lazada’s page, though the company has not yet specified pricing for the new phone.
