Xiaomi’s Yi Shows Off the Erida Drone with 4K 60FPS Video Capture

Yi Technology, a subsidiary of Xiaomi Incorporated, plans to wow CES 2017 visitors with its upcoming Erida Drone, a speedy tricopter capable of capturing 4K video at 60 frames per second.

Touted as the “first mainstream full carbon fiber” smart drone, the Erida Drone’s lightweight chassis and unique design allow it to fly at speeds of up to 75 mph (~120 km/h).

A mobile app serves as the control method for the Erida Drone, and camera settings can be manually adjusted while the tricopter is in flight.

The Erida Drone’s camera comes in the form of the Yi 4K+, the third iteration of the popular Yi action cam series. The Yi 4K+ will be the world’s first cam to sport 4K 60fps video capability.
