Yes, the Huawei Mate 10 is More than A Smartphone

You can use it as a desktop as well

Huawei has been dead serious about marketing its upcoming Mate 10 line as an intelligent machine. Beyond the AI capabilities of the Kirin 970 chip, recent reports indicate that the Mate 10 can be used as a desktop. Similar to Samsung’s DeX, Huawei is working on a system to connect the Mate 10 to a variety of desktop peripherals. The difference? You can dock the Mate 10 to a large screen through Miracast, making Huawei’s system more flexible than Samsung’s DeX.

Adding to its flexibility is its use of DisplayPort over HDMI, and being more portable than Samsung’s offering. In addition, Huawei’s approach will reportedly be more compatible with existing docks.

It’s worth noting that Huawei is open to the idea of turning the smartphone into a desktop. Will their approach be the most seamless one to date, being even better than Samsung’s DeX? That we have to wait until the Mate 10 is announced on October 16.
