You Can Try Out Microsoft Launcher on your Android Smartphone

It has a clean look and runs pretty stable

A few weeks ago, Microsoft showed to us a preview of two of its mobile apps, namely Edge and Microsoft Launcher. After the preview, those who want to try it out can download it via Google Play Store. While Edge is still in preview (meaning that the app may be unstable on your smartphone), Microsoft Launcher is stable and ready to use.

We tried Microsoft Launcher on the Cherry Mobile Flare S6 Selfie while we are here in Bangkok, and it looks like a promising launcher if you ask us. Here’s a quick overview:

For the home screen, you are greeted with a weather and clock widget, along with a Bing search bar on top. App icons are revised to fit Microsoft’s theme better.

When you swipe left, you get a personalized feed of your calendar, news, recent activities, and frequently used apps. You can customize the feed further according to your liking.

At the home screen, you have a Microsoft folder containing a list of Microsoft apps that you can download to complete your Microsoft Launcher experience.

As for the app drawer, apps are organized alphabetically. You can choose either a horizontal or vertical layout for this.

By default, if you swipe up at the portion above the home screen dock, you get your quick controls and frequently-used apps. You can customize this further through the Gesture settings.
