ZUK Heading To PH Soon With Their Z1 Smartphone

ZUK Z1

Another contender coming

We just got word that ZUK, a Chinese smartphone brand, is coming to the Philippines soon. The company, a collaborative effort between Lenovo and Qihoo 360, is Lenovo’s attempt to compete with Xiaomi’s internet sales approach. In line with their PH arrival, they’re releasing an international version of their Z1 smartphone to the PH for PHP 15,299.

ZUK Z1 specs

  • 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor
  • Adreno 330 GPU
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 5.5-inch full HD display, 1920 x 1080 resolution
  • 64GB of storage
  • 13-megapixel rear camera, Sony IMX214 sensor
  • 8-megapixel front camera, OmniVision sensor
  • 3G, LTE
  • WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS, A-GPS
  • Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, Cyanogen OS 12.1
  • 4100mAh battery

The Z1 is a great first offering, considering that this particular phone has a reversible USB Type-C connector, as well as a 13-megapixel rear camera that’s powered by Sony and 3GB of RAM. The only pain point really is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor in it that isn’t that power efficient, but that’s not really a big deal considering the phone has a rather large 4100mAh battery. We’ll be seeing the phone in the flesh in the next few days, stand by for our impressions till then.

  1. The SD801 is in several xperia models. Z2, z3 compact and z3 tablet compact. I believe all three have amazing battery life. That’s if I should believe gsmarena and phonearena.

  2. This looks really interesting. It might actually pull a lot of people from the Zenfone Series as this device has less compromises. And Snapdragon 801 is actually more efficient than a lot of its competitors (Atom,Helio X10). I would love to see snapdragon 805 though.

    1. Just discovered the lack of expandable storage though. Which is probably one of the most important part of a smartphone for me. (Batt life, Performance, and Expandable storage). I have a 128gb microSD and I constantly need to erase and replace content.

  3. This is like an improved OnePlus One, but with additional value. The bigger battery and fingerprint sensor is a plus! It has OIS as well!

  4. Damn.. 5.5inch, 3gb ram, 4100mah bat, SD 801, 64gb storage? I’d say that’s more than enough for majority of users, can’t wait, sakto next payday
