Make Your Way to the World Trade Center Today or Tomorrow

The Asia Pop Comic Con is currently on-going at the World Trade Center and we were able to drop by to check it out earlier this afternoon. We highly recommend that you guys drop by tomorrow for the last day of the event! It’s definitely going to a be a huge treat for young and old geeks alike. It’s also a great way to spend Sunday with your kids.

We put together five reasons why we think you guys should brave the traffic and make it over to the event. Check ’em out below. 🙂

1. Take a Picture of Yourself in the Hulk Buster Armor

Yes, there’s a life sized Hulk Buster Armor in the event grounds. You can line-up (not sure if there’s a fee) and enter the armor via the steps behind it so that your friends and family can take photos of you inside one of the most famous suits of armor Tony Stark has ever made.

If you plan on doing this we suggest you come early to the event. This had one of the longest lines earlier today.

Edit: To be able to take a photo of yourself in the armor you need to buy a shirt worth Php240 (boo, hehe)

2. Shop for Toys, Collectibles, or Prints!

There are tons of toys and collectibles being sold at the event! The primary exhibitors are Hot Toys and Filbar’s (they distribute Funk Pop). There are several event-only exclusive items that you can get as well. Take note though that the toys being sold here are for cheaps so prepare your credit card or bring a lot of cash with you.

Other than the toys, you can also buy signed prints by various international and local cosplayers, comic book artists, models, and photographers. They have their own booths in the event so just line-up, buy a print, and take a pic with them. 🙂

III. Take Photos with the Cosplayers!

Speaking of cosplayers, there are a lot of them at the event. If you’re going to take photos of them or have your photo taken with them please do be courteous and say “please”. Most of these guys weren’t paid to cosplay at the event. They just went there to express their inner geek.

IV. Check Out the Life Sized Statues

Scattered all over the event hall are various life-sized statues of heroes, villains, and monsters. The best booth was definitely Marvel with the Ultron statue being the main highlight. Check out some of the photos we took of the statues below.

V. Meet Famous People in the Geek World

And last, but definitely not the least, take the opportunity to attend the various panels and see international icons and celebrities of the geek world. The headliner for the event is Paul Bettany who played Vision in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. Unfortunately his panel was today so if you’re going to come tomorrow you’ll miss it. However there are still a lot of activities, shopping, and gawking that you can do. 🙂

And that’s it! You guys can get tickets at the venue itself. We highly recommend you guys go. It’s rare to see cons of this caliber and quality in the Philippines so you’re all going to have fun there. 😀
