ASUS Introduces AiMesh Whole Home WiFi Software For its WiFi Routers

A free software for current ASUS routers

In efforts towards developing a Whole WiFi system, ASUS has launched a new software that will help multiple connected ASUS routers have a seamless internet connection anywhere at home. Called AiMesh, this router firmware upgrade allows users to create their own Whole WiFi system, tailored to their needs. These include flexible options such as choosing between a single SSID or multiple SSIDs, and adjustable bandwidths based on the user’s needs for a particular ASUS router.

Other features AiMesh-enabled routers can avail of include retaining all their original networking features and capabilities while having multiple ASUS routers connected within the AiMesh network, along with an improved performance and outstanding reliability of as much as 5.5x (using the RT-AC86U) compared to a dual-band, tri-hub mesh system.

Current routers that support AiMesh are RT-AC68U, RT-AC86U, and RT-AC88U, with ROG Rapture GT-AC5300, ASUS Blue Cave, and ASUS Lyra Series routers to receive the feature later this year.
