Steve Rogers aka Captain America from The Avengers
Our epic quest to complete the 1/6th scale limited edition collectible figures of The Avengers continues with our latest acquisition — Steve Rogers aka Captain America! Portrayed by Chris Evans in The Avengers movie, Captain America led the team in battling Loki and his alien army in New York. As expected the figure from Hot Toys bares an amazing likeness to the actual character in the movie and they were able to nail a lot of details, including the small ones (like his belt).

When Captain America Throws His Mighty Shield…
As you’ve seen in the photos, the figure comes with two heads, one with the mask/helmet on and another one sculpted to the likeness of Chris Evans. The head with the helmet is almost expressionless while the Chris Evans head has some sort of angry/emo/constipated look, hehe.
The figure stands approximately 31 centimeters tall and it has a pretty muscular body. Captain America is surprisingly one of the more imposing figures in the collection. It probably has something to do with how the clothes are tightly fitted.
For the costume we get the blue, grayish white, and red suit with the star embossed pattern. We also get the smaller accessories and details like the blue belt with pouches and even the hoodie! The boots as well as the different hand pegs have some sort of faux leather finish which gives the figure a more gritty and genuine look and feel.
The figure came with multiple interchangeable gloved palms and you can use them for a variety of poses. It also comes with the hand peg that can be considered as Captain America’s most powerful weapon and gesture.
One of my favorite scenes in the movie is where Captain America instructed the Hulk to attack the alien invaders, hehe. Kinda like this:
Other than the interchangeable gloved palms, the figure also comes with three main accessories: Captain America’s Shield, Captain America’s Shield (Battle Damaged), and the rifle of the aliens (he tore it off one of them during the movie after he gave instructions to the NYPD in the area of the war). The damaged shield was a pretty nice extra since it goes well with the Battle Damaged Iron Man suit.
With over 30 points of articulation, the figure is definitely posable. It’s not as flexible as we would want (especially the legs) but we can make do with it. Check out our other photos of Captain America in action below.

With Captain America now part of our collection, we’re down to three more figures: Nick Fury, Agent Coulson, and Hawkeye. We have our sets on Hawkeye next and hopefully we can get him in before 2014.
The Captain America 1/6th scale limited edition collectible figure sells anywhere from Php14,000-Php16,000 in various toy shops in Greenhills. You can probably find a better priced one online if you loo hard enough (maybe around Php13,000-Php14,000).
