DC Comics Variant Play Arts Kati Action Figure No. 1 – Batman

So the little boy in me came out and possessed my mind and body earlier after seeing Data Blitz post a photo of the new DC Comics Variant Play Arts Kai Action Figure of Batman on their Facebook Page. I ended up calling several branches of Data Blitz to inquire if they still had stock that wasn’t taken with the pre-order and fortunately I found a single piece left that wasn’t reserved in their least frequented shop (I won’t say where, hehe). Earlier tonight I took a quick trip to the store, bought it, brought it back home, and immediately unboxed it and took photos, lol.

PLAY ARTS KAI is the merchandising division of SQUARE ENIX. They’ve come out with spectacular action figures in the past of characters from their games like Squall, Cloud, and the icon Sepiroth of Final Fantasy. That’s why we were confident that their take of DC Comics’ Batman would just be as good. And oh boy they did not disappoint!

For this action figure, Play Arts Kai re-imagined Batman into a deadly, fiercesome, and stealthy ninja. The Bat Suit is designed with elements of ancient Japanese armor and the cowl is based from the Japanese “noh” mask. Just like any good ninja, this one also comes with a ninja sword and a Batarang. They also threw in the grapple gun for good measure, hehe. Here are some photos that we took. Pardon the quality as we were in a bit of a rush to post this!

We’ll take better shots and do a more comprehensive review in the next few days. The toy is so friggin good that it makes us want to buy a home studio set-up just for photography, haha!

Anyway, to those who want one try your luck in Data Blitz stores. It sells for Php2,950 but they only brought in a limited quantity. There are also two other figures available – Green Lantern and Wonder Woman. Same price.
