Doom’s Closed Alpha Begins On October 23 (October 24 in PH)

Experience Doom’s explosive (and gory) multiplayer yourself

ID Software will be opening up the closed alpha of the next Doom title later tomorrow, October 24, 12 PM (that’s October 23 12 AM for the folks in the states). The alpha will be available for people who pre-ordered the game online before May 24th and for people who managed to find beta codes found in physical copies of Wolfenstein: The New Order. The closed alpha takes place in one map, and is a stress test of sorts to fine tune the servers and all the other gubbins that are used for the retail version when it launches next year.

If you’re not one of the lucky few that will make it into the alpha, fear not – id Software has provided a showcase of sorts of what players can expect when they play the multiplayer for Doom, and it’s as bloody as we imagined it. Check it out above.

Doom will be arriving next year during spring in all major platforms, including PS4, XBOX One and the PC.
