One of the biggest names in esports arrives in the PH

ESL One, one of the biggest esports names in the world, is heading to Manila this weekend for ESL One 2016. Eight teams from around the world (including the PH’s own Mineski.Sports5) are all vying for a prize pool of $250,000 – the biggest ever for an esports event in this side of the world.

The event, held in front of a sold-out crowd in the SM MOA Arena from April 23-24, is expected to make waves in the international DoTA scene. Over 10,000 people are joining in on the fun in the SM MOA Arena, along with thousands of other people joining in on the event via livestream and TV broadcast.

ESL One Manila has teamed up with PLDT and Smart, along with Mineski-Events Team to bring this biggest gaming event in Southeast Asia. ESL One Manila has been also included in the Tourism Promotions Board as one of the month’s bigger tourist attractions by the Philippine national government.

All games of ESL One Manila will be also broadcast on AksyonTV while the grand finals of ESL One Manila is set to broadcast on TV5.

  1. Sir it’s not DoTA, it is Dota 2 completely different games. DotA (the proper acronym for Defense of the Ancient) is a custom map from Warcraft III. While Dota 2, is the game developed by Valve with DotA’s major contributor, IceFrog.

This is two different games and it comes to the point that Blizzard sue Valve so they can’t use the title of the custom map and the name of certain characters.

Anyway, thanks for covering ESL ONE Manila in your tech blog. Thanks.
