Facebook has apparently flipped our PH flag in their automated greeting for today’s 118th Independence Day celebrations.

The reversed flag is usually reserved for when the country is at war. It was flown that way during WWII in the 1940’s, and during the 1987 coup attempt on then President Corazon Aquino’s presidency.

We’re disappointed that Facebook flew the flag in the inverse, which shows a lack of research and respect of our country’s history and culture. We’re hoping that Facebook fixes the problem soon and issues an apology for the incident.
