Time to stop it with the clickbait posts
Admit it: When we browse our Facebook feeds, chances are that we encounter senseless, clickbait-y posts that make us click through. It can be annoying especially with the short attention span of people when they figure out that they posted a worthless post from their feeds.
Fortunately, Facebook is trying to lessen the crap on our feeds with its latest algorithm adjustment. Based on a machine learning model, Facebook will penalize content that promotes clickbaiting and shameless engagement. The algorithm update will greatly affect Page owners, especially those who try to go the easy route in growing their page with a large engagement and reach.
While it has specified examples of “engagement baiting”, Facebook explains that there are exceptions to the rule, which include posts involving “missing child report(s), raising money for a cause, or asking for travel tips”.
The update will be implemented in the coming weeks, which should give Page owners enough time to rethink their strategy in utilizing Facebook.
